TECHNOLOGIES / LABORATORY SERVICES

ISOTEC maintains a “state-of-the-art” research and development (R&D) laboratory with the capability to perform focused treatability studies.

Our laboratory is an EPA-registered facility and maintains the necessary regulatory agency notifications needed in compliance with RCRA for treatability testing laboratories. Our laboratory is staffed with a full-time research scientist with over 20 years of experience running treatability studies. To date, ISOTEC has performed hundreds of bench scale treatability studies and specializes in designing and performing custom bench scale studies based on site-specific needs.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF OUR CAPABILITIES:

  • Comparative laboratory studies of different remediation chemistries:
    • Chemical Oxidation utilizing modified Fenton’s reagent (MFR), sodium/potassium permanganate, sodium/potassium persulfate,  KlozurCR, and ozone;
      • Evaluation of multiple oxidant activation/catalyst mechanisms including carbohydrate, heat, high pH (i.e. lime or sodium hydroxide), hydrogen peroxide, ferric iron and chelated iron.
    • Chemical Reductants including calcium polysulfide, sodium polysulfide, zero valent iron, and other reducing reagents;
    • Carbon substrate electron donors to enhance bioremediation;
    • Surfactants.
    • Metal stabilization using phosphates, EnviroBlend, etc.
    • In-Situ Stabilization (ISS)
    • Media tested includes soil, groundwater, slurry, crushed bedrock, etc.
  • Batch reactors and soil column studies.
  • Soil oxidant demand (SOD) and total oxidant demand (TOD) evaluations.
  • Base-buffer capacity and acid-buffer capacity tests
  • Emerging contaminants
  • Metal mobilization evaluation.
