ISOTEC implements a full-suite of in-situ treatment technologies, including an innovative bio-electro-chemical processes that achieves rapid degradation of contaminants by manipulating and accelerating transfer of electrons within the impacted groundwater and soils.

THERE ARE TWO MAIN COMPONENTS OF E-REDOX® TECHNOLOGY

  • E-Redox® (I) establishes a reductive field that feeds electrons within impacted matrices while rapidly reducing contaminants such as chlorinated ethenes, perchlorate, nitrate, and chromium (Cr+6).  Operating E-Redox® (I) consumes minimum household electricity or can use alternative sources of electricity, such as solar power. For treatment of chlorinated ethenes, E-Redox® (I) enhances beta-elimination reactions, similar to zero valent iron it does not generate lesser chlorinated intermediates (such as DCE and VC) and also stimulates the biotic reductive dechlorination process.  
  • E-Redox® (O) is a “passive” technology for oxidative remediation of petroleum hydrocarbons, as well as ammonia, without consumption of electricity. E-Redox® (O) provides electron acceptor for electron transfer in the contaminated matrix.
